  • 1.  Launching a child process results in a "stuck" process

    Hello! 

    I'm currently trying to launch a form on another app using a Form Process Launch activity in my test form.

    I've correctly set all the parameters in the plugin, but something doesn't work.

    The process that is launched is "stuck" or "blank"... what I mean by that is that it does not have any Process History, does not get assigned to anyone and cannot be opened from the documents tab. I've set the parameters to App group Originator and selected Yes on Resolve Participants. 

    Anyone else has faced this issue?

    Hi Florin

    That's really hard to debug based on a description.  My best guess is that there wasn't a proper assignment for the first active task in the child workflow, but there may be other reasons.  You might open a support ticket to see if they can help you one-on-one.

    Hi Florin.

    Child processes are launched from a business job. you can track if a child process is launched through Business job page.

    Administration app -> system-> Jobs -> business jobs.

    check for jobs with name formprocesslaunch. If there is some issue in configuration you will see an error in the comment section.

    If the job is in 'not started' state, wait for the job to complete and then check the process and Document.

    Happy new year! 

    Thank you for your answers and suggestions. I was able to find the FormProcessLaunch job in the tab mentioned by you and there was an issue with the swimlane assignments. It looks like the Reference Data list I was provided had different column headers than the one I had in the Dev environment.. (it worked fine there). I have corrected that and it works now.
