Ironstream Hub – New Release Available
We are very pleased to announce that Ironstream Hub v1.4.2 is now generally available. This updated component release provides these new features:
New Targets: Cribl Stream and Elasticsearch: As part of our continuous effort to expand data delivery capabilities to new platforms, we are pleased to announce that this release introduces full support for sending data to Cribl Stream and Elasticsearch.
Added new SMF Formatter Process for IBM Z data: You can now easily make SMF data more understandable and consistent for analysis. This feature improves the usability and accessibility of SMF and related records by making field names clearer.
Added a new Field Renamer Process for IBM i data: You can now automatically apply clear, standardized names to IBM i data fields, making your data easier to understand and integrate. This simplifies analysis and ensures consistency across your pipelines.
Updated zCX platform support: You can now deploy Ironstream Hub in containers on both z/OS and IBM i platforms. This enhancement gives you greater flexibility in managing IBM Z and i environments while maintaining centralized control.
SMF100 Data Enhancements for Datadog: Ironstream Hub now makes SMF100 (Db2 subsystem statistics) data easier to work with in Datadog by automatically organizing and standardizing records for better analysis.
Enhancements to Pipeline Simulator: The Pipeline Simulator is now easier to use and includes new capabilities like quick record overviews, detailed views, flexible JSON display options, and the ability to rerun simulations for faster testing after changes.
Important Note: If a user of the Hub from before v1.3.11 has any pipelines containing a Datadog target these must be removed before upgrading to this version of the Hub, then re-added. Failure to do so will result in the Hub Portal not being able to initialize.
A way to do this is as follows:
- add a different type of target (e.g. File) to the pipeline so it has at least one valid target
- delete the Datadog target and save it
- upgrade the Hub
- when done, re-add the Datadog target to the pipeline
- remove the additional temporary target
- save and restart the pipeline
