Hi Forum
I was wondering if anybody else have encountered the following issue:

I have created a script to load long texts for maintenance plans via tr.c IP02 and am testing it at the moment.
I use the button 'Add long text'

After load, I immediately go to SAP to verify the text. When I open the maintenance plan in view mode, tr.c IP03, it appears as there is no long text added.
If I open in change mode, IP02, click the long text button, the loaded text is visible. After save and reopen in display mode, the long text is also visible here.
I have used both standard recording and batch input recording. Both with same results.

If I load and reverse the data direction in the script (from "blue arrow" to "green arrow"), the script will retrieve the loaded text from SAP, despite it is not visible in display mode in SAP

It's almost like the script doesn't finalize the job completely.
I even have tried to chain the script with a subsequent "IP02 - change something else"-script, to provoke the opening in change mode. The change of "something else" was immediately visible in display mode, but the long text still behaved as described above

I use Winshuttle Studio ver 20.2

I recommend creating a support ticket for this issue. I agree that it's peculiar behavior and it might be a bug.

I had the same when adding Long Text to Equipment (IE02). It appears in IE03 as no long text present, but the read text can read the text, and if I go in IE02 and press the add text button manually,  the text will be there. I agree, it seems that the job is not being completed.

Update:
Root cause is that the function modules creating the long text do not update in table MPLA (for maintenance plans).
A work around is to chain another script to open the object (in my case, the maintenance plan) in change mode, click the long text Icon, and then back out again and save. I have tried it and it works.
I was, in fact, so close as per my description in my initial post. :-) but the key trick is to click and open the long text window
