Product Update: Geo Addressing SDK – Deployment Simplified
Dear Precisely Customer:
We're pleased to share a set of targeted improvements to the Geo Addressing SDK September 2025 release that streamline deployment, reduce legacy dependencies, and enhance security-making it easier and safer for teams to integrate and maintain.
What's Changing?
1. Lightweight Deployment
- SDK now runs as a standalone runnable JAR, removing the need for Spring and Tomcat.
- The legacy webapp folder has been replaced with a simplified app directory.
- Launching the server is now as easy as running start.sh.
2. CLI Streamlining
- The deploy command has been retired to reduce complexity.
- Other CLI commands remain unchanged, preserving familiar workflows.
3. Consistent Interfaces
- All REST API endpoints remain unchanged, ensuring full backward compatibility.
4. Improved Security Dependencies
- By removing legacy frameworks like Spring and Tomcat, the SDK now has a leaner dependency footprint, reducing exposure to known vulnerabilities and simplifying patching and compliance efforts.
5. Performance Boost
- The new architecture leverages Micronaut, resulting in faster startup times and a more efficient runtime.
