This training session explores a practical interim solution for environments where automatically created DAM Link records do not trigger Change Notification processing during asset auto-linking. Participants learn how EnterWorks links uploaded digital assets to repository records by matching identifiers embedded in file names, and why certain DAM Link attributes-such as image captions, priorities, contexts, and other metadata-may remain unpopulated when trigger processing is bypassed.

Through detailed demonstrations, the session examines the DAM auto-linking process, the creation of DAM Link records, and the limitations that can prevent Change Notification rules from executing automatically. Attendees gain insight into the relationship between DAM integrations, repository triggers, Change Notification processing, calculated metadata, and asset-management workflows.

A major focus is placed on an EPX workflow-based workaround that forces trigger processing to occur after DAM Link records are created. Participants learn how a marker attribute can be used to identify newly created records, how scheduled workflow processing locates and updates those records, and how enabling trigger processing during the update causes existing Change Notification rules to execute. The training covers workflow scheduling, lock management, repository searches, update activities, trigger-enabled processing, and techniques to prevent duplicate processing.

Additional topics include DAM Link repository configuration, relational snapshot attributes, workflow deployment via EPX, migration procedures, modifications to Change Notification rules, considerations for create-versus-update processing, history tracking, troubleshooting techniques, and implementation best practices. Real-world examples show how DAM Link records can be automatically enriched with metadata and calculated values while preserving existing Change Notification investments with only minor configuration adjustments.
