Enforcive Enterprise Security 8.4.09 – Service Pack Notification
Announcement
Precisely announces the release of Enforcive Enterprise Security 8.4.09. This release provides either a new installation or an upgrade from previous versions of Enforcive Enterprise Security.
Precisely strongly encourages customers to stay current by upgrading to the latest release for Enforcive Enterprise Security. Details of the fixes and new features contained within this release can be found in the associated Readme document.
Overview of Features and Functionality
This release introduces a set of enhancements across Application Access Control, Data Providers, and Enterprise Security Manager, along with platform updates to align with supported IBM i operating system standards. These improvements focus on strengthening audit visibility, improving centralized log integration, and simplifying administrative workflows. Administrators will benefit from enhanced control over database commands, improved reporting capabilities, and greater transparency into user activity through new inquiry and export options. In addition, updates to SYSLOG and CEF formatting improve the consistency and reliability of audit data across distributed environments. Operational efficiency is further enhanced with the introduction of centralized upgrade management, enabling streamlined deployment across multiple IBM i systems. Finally, platform alignment ensures that customers operate on a secure, fully supported baseline, reducing reliance on legacy environments and improving overall system stability.
Enhancements for Data Providers
The addition of SYSLOG with Local Central Audit Connection improves customers' ability to centralize and streamline audit data collection, enabling more efficient integration with SIEM and monitoring tools. The introduction of UTC timestamp support for both Custom CEF and standard CEF formats ensures consistent and accurate time representation across distributed systems, improving event correlation and strengthening audit and compliance reporting.
Enhancements in Application Access Control
The Log Recording Inquiry feature enhances visibility into user activity by allowing administrators to view users and their associated log recordings in one place, simplifying investigation workflows and improving audit traceability. The addition of a Printable Format option enables administrators to generate and export access control reports, making it easier to save, share, and analyze data outside the application. This improves efficiency for compliance reporting, audits, and cross-team collaboration.
General Enhancements
The introduction of the Upgrade Center module simplifies system administration by enabling centralized management of upgrades across multiple IBM i servers. This reduces manual effort, ensures version consistency, and minimizes the risk of misaligned environments. The removal of support for IBM i versions below V7R4 aligns customers with supported operating system standards, reducing security risks and operational complexity while ensuring a stable, fully supported platform.

Minimum Requirements
Enterprise Security Manager – Report Generator Email requirements
- Java 8 is required by version 8.4.02.00 and higher for Report Generator and by version 8.4.06.00 and higher for Alert Center.
- Upgrades to Enterprise Security version 8.4.09.00 are supported from Enterprise Security version 8.2 or higher.
IBM i OS Levels supported:
- IBM i V7R4M0 or greater (see restrictions for specific modules in the ReadMe)
