  • 1.  Edit/Change Field API Name

    Is it possible to change the API name of a business asset field after the field has been created? For example, I have a field in a business asset with the name 'Business Description' and I want to change that to 'Data View Description'. I can edit the Field Name by using the Edit Field functionality but the API Name remains greyed out and doesn't change when the Field Name is changed. 

    So far, I haven't been able to find a way to amend this and haven't been able to find anything in the Knowledge Communities relating to this. Is the only option here to deleted the field and recreate it with the new name to get the API Name to be aligned with the new Field Name? Therefore having to download a copy of all existing entries and reload entries in that field after it is recreated?

    Certainly this is the way it has been for some time.
    It would be great to have the option to just do it. Maybe you want to post that to the ideas forum.
