Hi Nick
MapInfo Pro only supports Oracle Spatial through an Oracle Call Interface (OCI). We do not support it through ODBC, unfortunately.
The primary key column can have any name in a base table. In a view, we only pick up the primary key column if it is named MI_PRINX.
You can find more details here: Connecting to an Oracle database in a MapInfo Pro application

Subject: Do I need a MI_PRINX column in an Oracle Spatial table?
Hello all,
I am building a spatial table in Oracle
I have a Primary Key column "IDENTIFIER"
I have a geometry column "GEOMETRY"
I am trying and failing to open this table in MapInfo v2019, by opening a DBMS connection and opening the table as Live (not Linked)
Do I need one of the columns to be "MI_PRINX"? I know that used to be a requirement, is it still required?
