    An update is being applied to the D360 Govern Dev and UAT environments on Thursday, August 7, 2025 with changes to Responsibilities.   Responsibility Types and Responsibility Rules are now Roles and Security Policies.  


    This update will be applied to Production next week and a separate announcement will be sent.
     

    Why?

    The redesign of roles and security policies aims to simplify the user interface and improve the overall user experience. By making roles more flexible and policies event-based, we aim to enhance performance and make it easier for you to manage your security settings.

     

    What's New?

    Responsibility Types and Responsibility Rules are now Roles and Security Policies. 

    1.  Page Renaming and Redesign:

      • The Administration > Security > 'Responsibilities' page has been renamed to 'Roles and Policies'. The user interface has been redesigned to simplify role creation and assignment.

    2.  Role Flexibility:

      • Roles no longer need to be assigned to a specific asset type. They can now be used across any asset type without needing specific allocation.

    3.  Details Panel:

      • A details panel has been added to the right of the screen, displaying additional permissions and security policy details.

    4.  Terminology Changes:

      • 'Responsibility Types' are now referred to a 'Roles'

      • 'Ownership rules' are now referred to as 'Security Policies'. The 'Security Policies' tab shows a complete list of the available security policies, no longer segmented by role.

      • The 'When' section has been renamed to 'What does the policy apply to?', indicating the conditions for policy application. The 'Then' section has been renamed to 'Who does this policy apply to?'.

      • The terms 'Ownership' and 'Roles' have been standardized across the application, replacing 'Responsibilities'.

    5.  Event-Based Policies:

      • Policies are now event-based rather than schedule-based, improving performance. Changes to assets or relationships trigger specific policy recalculations.
