Infogix are retiring certain features of Data360 Analyze in the 3.8.0 release.

    What's Changing?

The following product features are being retired:

    Nodes:

    • SharePoint 2010 nodes
    • Spark nodes
    • XMLPy File node

    Supported Operating Systems:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
    • Windows Server 2012 R2
    • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12  [Update: Added July 15, 2021]

Why is Infogix retiring these product features?

The features supported by Infogix products have independent lifecycles and feature support can be influenced by a number of factors including lifecycle support for third party systems, technological improvements and the introduction of alternative functionality within the products, and aggregate client demand for specific product features.

How does this affect my organisation and what actions do I need to make?

    SharePoint 2010 nodes:

The following nodes (SharePoint 2010 nodes) are affected:

    • Folder List for SharePoint 2010
    • Download for SharePoint 2010
    • Upload for SharePoint 2010

Microsoft standard support for SharePoint 2010 ceased in 2015 and the final date for extended support ended on April 13, 2021.

The SharePoint 2010 nodes are deprecated in the current release of Data360 Analyze.

The SharePoint 2010 nodes will be retired in Data360 Analyze v.3.8.0 release and the functionality will be removed from the product.

Data360 Analyze offers support for SharePoint 2013 using the Folder List for SharePoint 2013, Download for SharePoint 2013 and Upload for SharePoint 2013 nodes - which provide equivalent functionality to integrate Data360 Analyze with a SharePoint 2013 server. Data360 Analyze does not currently provide support for SharePoint 2019 or SharePoint 365 or SharePoint Online.

It is recommended that operational data flows should be examined to determine whether they leverage the SharePoint 2010 nodes and whether they can be modified to use other SharePoint product functionality or to integrate with other document storage systems.

    Spark Nodes:

The following nodes (Spark nodes) are affected:

    • Spark Download
    • Spark SQL Query
    • Spark Agg
    • Spark Filter
    • Spark Sort
    • Spark Join
    • Spark Java Submit
    • Spark Data Viewer
    • Spark Start Session
    • Spark End Session
    • Spark Sample
    • Spark Upload

Infogix has seen limited client demand for the ability to integrate Data360 Analyze with Spark clusters,

The Spark nodes will be retired in Data360 Analyze v.3.8.0 release and the functionality will be removed from the product.

Data360 Analyze offers support for integration with some components typically included in Big Data environments, including HDFS and Hive (using JDBC). In addition, the Data360 DQ+ product delivers robust data quality controls and advanced data integrity checks that leverage the capabilities of a Big Data environment.

It is recommended that operational data flows should be examined to determine whether they leverage the Spark nodes and whether they can be modified to use other Big Data product functionality provided by Data 360 Analyze or to investigate the use of Data360 DQ+ within your organisation.

    XMLPy File Node:

Infogix client demand for XML processing capabilities has decreased as other data encoding/transport formats such as JSON have become more prevalent. The XMLPy File node also leverages Python 2 functionality and Infogix are progressively reducing the reliance of Data360 Analyze on this technology.

The XMLPy File node is deprecated in the current release of Data360 Analyze.

The XMLPy File node will be retired in Data360 Analyze v.3.8.0 release and the functionality will be removed from the product.

Data360 Analyze offers support for processing XML data using a number of other nodes, including the XML Data, Tabular XML File and Convert Tabular XML nodes.

It is recommended that operational data flows should be examined to determine whether they leverage the XMLPy File node and whether they can be modified to use other Data360 Analyze nodes that can process XML data.

    Supported Operating Systems:

Red Hat ceased maintenance II support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.10 on November 30, 2020.

Support for RHEL 6 will be retired in Data360 Analyze v.3.8.0 release.

It is recommended that clients plan to upgrade the server computing infrastructure leveraged by Data360 Analyze to use a supported platform - currently for users of Linux - namely RHEL 7. Note that RHEL 8 will also be supported for Data360 Analyze v.3.8.0.

Microsoft ceased Mainstream Support for Windows Server 2012 R2 on September 10, 2018.

Support for Windows Server 2012 R2 will be retired in Data360 Analyze v.3.8.0 release.

It is recommended that clients plan to upgrade the server computing infrastructure leveraged by Data360 Analyze to use a supported platform - currently for users of Windows Server - either Windows Server 2019 (Desktop Experience) or Windows Server 2016 64-bit (Server with Desktop Experience).

SUSE ceased General Support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server SP3 on Jun 30, 2019.

Due to the limited customer demand for Data360 Analyze on SUSE Linux, Infogix are retiring support for this platform in Data360 Analyze v.3.6.0. It is recommended that clients plan to change the server computing infrastructure leveraged by Data360 Analyze to use a supported platform.
