Hi Nart
It's completely up to you on how you approach solving this use case. The good news is you have more choices now. :) I go with whatever works best for the use case.
Does your SAP team allow "Scripting" in your production SAP environment? If so, then you can use GUI Scripting. Otherwise, you can use GUI for HTML.
If you are using the GUI for HTML Easy Access Menu option - use the Web GUI url, which is myserver/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui .You can use the tcode WEBGUI to launch it and you will see the URL.
You can also use the Fiori launch pad if you choose to create a script with a Fiori app that is actually a Web GUI app.
You want to be sure the people using the script have the right permissions, so please check with your SAP Basis team.
The other thing to consider - is this part of a larger use case? If so, please note that you cannot chain scripts of different types, i.e. GUI for HTML scripts can only be chained with other GUI for HTML scripts, the same for Fiori and Transaction (although Transaction chains can include Query).
Hope that helps,
Sigrid

Subject: Create external document (URL) via IE02
Hi Sigrid,
Thank you for testing this.
1.I have Studio v25.1.
I haven't used GUI for HTML before. I tried setting the connection up but unsuccessful. I assume it uses the same connection input as Fiori.

2.Is the GUI for HTML better than the Transaction GUI mode?

Hi Nart
I found the same thing. If you check the documentation, we don't yet support the AFM way to do document attachments for IE02/3: https://help.precisely.com/r/t/1016755829/2023-12-31/Automate-Studio/Connect/Latest/en-US/Automate-Studio-with-Studio-Administrator-User-Guide/Attach-documents
However, if you have Studio 24.1+, you can use GUI for HTML in an S4 system (I used S4 2023), and it works to post the URL attachments. Tip - please avoid Validate, as it will post the attachments, so I disabled it.

The other option, as you have found, is GUI Scripting.
If anyone has another option - please jump in.
Best Regards,
Sigrid

Is there another way to Create external document (URL) via IE02 other than using GUI mode?
If using Standard and Batch will not show below option to select.

Inside 'Create external document (URL)' option.
