I am creating some polygon layers using the OS Codepoint with polygons product. The source data is polygons for postcode units and these need to be combined into larger sector, district and area layers. I have created these layers by using "table\combine objects using column" and "table\update column" with some code I found.

Here is the problem though. Where there are e.g. apartment buildings with a single delivery point but multiple postcodes, these locations are given a non-standard "V" postcode that can be used with a lookup to find the list of postcodes for each. When combining objects in Mapinfo, this means that multiple tiny V polygons are created that sit inside the larger postcode areas, districts etc. What I want to do is combine these small V polygons with the larger postcode area/district/sector polygons to create a single polygon for each area/district/sector. I could query postcode like "v%" and delete these objects but then I end up with holes in my larger polygons which I don't want.

Does anyone now how I can do this?

Not sure if you have found a solution already?

You could use the Gap Removal under Clean Objects to remove the holes after you have deleted those small polygons inside the larger ones.
