  • 1.  Chaining a GUI recorded mode transaction script to a Standard recorded mode transaction?

Hi, we have the need to mass update the Business Partner in transaction BP, although in order to correctly select the 'Communication' section field 'Standard Method' we need to record this in GUI mode. So we created a main script to update BP in standard mode and recorded this single field update using GUI and chained them.

The issue we face is the standard script won't run without the 'Start SAP GUI' ticked, although for some reason when we publish the chained solution it automatically unticks. I can successfully publish the standard script standalone - the tick remains.

Can anyone advise/help and explain why the 'Start SAP GUI' unticks itself?

    Hi Kelly

I haven't chained together GUI and non-GUI scripts before, which is why I didn't reply.  As such, I haven't had the Start SAP GUI option checked or unchecked automatically when published.  You might check with support.

Note all of my BP scripts have Start SAP GUI checked.  In the SAP Module Templates community there are examples of general, sales and company round trips leveraging Transaction and Query.

I'm not sure where this 'standard method' checkbox is located in the (massive) BP tcode (I looked in general).  I would look for a BAPI to do it in one go and avoid this scenario. There aren't a ton of them in S4, but there are a number for general data.

    Best Regards,

    Sigrid
