New Buildings USA Change Log
Abstract
If you are a Buildings USA customer, please read this Product Support Announcement. For the October release of Buildings USA (v2025.10), a new metadata file called Buildings Change Log (buildings_changelog.csv) will be added to the documentation folder of the USA nationwide product zip package.
Overview of Features and Functionality
To increase transparency, we will be providing an extra metadata file showing changes from the previous to the current monthly release. Clients can use this file to audit and review specific updates in each release.
This metadata file will be available in the documentation folder of the USA nationwide product zip package, and will show building objects that have been added, deleted, or updated by the Precisely Building ID (BLDGID). The file will contain three attributes:
- BLDGID: The Building ID of the polygon that changed.
- CHANGE: This field represents a one-character value indicating the type of change.
- A = Represents a new building object that has been added. In this case a new BLDGID has been created.
- D = Represents a building object that has been deleted. In this case the BLDGID has been deleted from product.
- U = Represents a building object that has been updated. In this case the BLDGID will remain the same as previous release, but attribution for that object was updated in either the object and/or addresses tables.
- CHG_CODE: This field is populated for those building objects where the CHANGE field = "U" (update) and represents the reason for the update. The values of this field and descriptions are below.
- Address: One or more field values in the Address table record associated with the given BLDGID have changed since the previous month's release.
- Object: One or more field values in the Object table record associated with the given BLDGID have changed since the previous month's release.
