I thought the below response from Himanshu Verma on what data tables apply to our Data Normalization and Advanced Matching Modules was worth sharing with everyone.
    -------------

We provide 'base' tables with DNM for following stages & these are recommended (not mandatory) to be installed to be able to use DNM –

    -        Adv. Transformer: Data contains Acronyms, Business Name Abbreviations, Fortune 1000 companies, Sanctioned countries, Country specific info (for Germany, Spain, Singapore & US) & others. Read more here.

    -        Open Parser: Company info (Conjunctions, Prepositions, Suffixes & Terms), Family & Given Names, Titles & others. Read more here.

    -        Table Lookup: All that covered within Adv. Transformer + UK related data. Read more here.

AMM doesn't come with any base tables & can be used independent of available datasets (Asian Plus pack, Arabic Plus pack & Core Names).

For those wondering what exactly can be achieved in absence of tables being loaded -

    • Adv. Transformer – Lets you use the Regular expressions.
    • Open parser – Lets you define domain independent grammar.
    • Table Lookup – Lets you import user-defined tables.

However, there is not much scope of working through these stages if recommended 'base' tables aren't loaded. Unlike DNM, with AMM stages like Intraflow, Interflow, MatchKey Generator & others, you can still work with them & create MatchKey & Match rules even without the tables. Hence, to fully utilize DNM capabilities, you need to at least load the 'Base' tables.

A use case close to MDM is Reference Data Management (RDM). DNM tables appear to mean like Reference Data tables dedicated to DQ process (Lookups, parsing).
It you be interesting to build a bridge between DNM tables and Data Hub entities when those value have to be "govern" from a single point of truth perspective like any Master data. This would bring more flexibility in the way we can maintain those data. Similar approach would be interesting with the search index capabilities when services like autocomplete ones are required for Reference Data Acquisition.
