Any certain settings to speed up MapInfo Pro?

When talking about performance improvements, it would help to add some context - improvements in the startup speed i.e. time taken for MapInfo Pro to launch on startup?

or improvements when navigating around the map window e.g. panning/zooming, turning on/off visibility of layers etc.?

Where are the current bottlenecks in speed being encountered?

In the Backtage Area under Options, the System section has a Performance dialog that lets you control two specific settings:

1. Concurrency level - controls the number of cores that MapInfo may use. Selecting "Full" will provide highest performnance (but might slow down other applications while MapInfo is running a time consuming operation).
2. Smart indexing - makes sure that indices are dropped before running certain demanding operations, and then re-calculated at the end (rather than being re-calculated dynamically during the operation). The setting "Auto" will drop the index for tables with more than 1000 entries.
