Advanced Matching Module Candidate Finder stage Important Uses
There are other important uses for the Advanced Matching Module Candidate Finder stage in addition to selecting candidate records from a database or search index for comparison by Transactional Match stage.
- Candidate Finder can be used to do a left outer join or inner join between two larger data sources more efficiently than using the Record Joiner stage if one of those data sources is loaded into a search index.
- Candidate Finder can be used without Transactional Match to do an exact match on one or more fields in a database or search index to return as many attributes in the database or search index as needed for the matching record. This capability can be also be used to not have to repeat the same fuzzy match using Transaction Match twice if the same suspect/input record appears multiple times by updating the search index or data base dynamically with a unique key that identifies the record so that Candidate Finder can be used to do an exact match on the unique key. Only if there is not a exact match using Candidate Finder, send the record to Transactional Match for fuzzy matching thereby avoiding any unnecessary fuzzy matching
