So we've run into an interesting issue. If you log in to the datamart, you see that we have 575867 records in our repository:

When you look in Enable 2020 UI, there are 2 extra records:

When you look in the classic UI and go to the last sheet, you see the total counter reflecting the extra 2 records, but the records in view showing the same  # from the datamart.

    What's going on ??? :)

    Sidd,

I was able to replicate the same behavior by manually inserting a couple of phantom records into the B_SNAPSHOT_<repoId> table.  Since the phantom records do not reference actual records in the B_MASTER_REPOSITORY_ITEM table, they don't appear in the repository list view, but the record count does include them in the count.  You can probably eliminate them by rebuilding the snapshot table for the repository and selecting the option to drop the table.

    Brian,

We are dealing with a similar "ghost" story.  In our case we have a Staging repository that includes 23 records that are not visible through the UI or through the snapshots.  If we delete all records from this repository, no records will be visible when opening the repository.  However, if we go to the repositories list (under model) the row count for this repository will show 23 records.  Furthermore, if we run a promotion for this repository, the phantom records will be on the Production repository.  We cannot get a hold of these mysterious 23 records.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank You,

This may be a dumb question, but have you rebuilt the snapshot?  Another thought . . . at one point in time, we had a snapshot so corrupt, we had to drop the view and the snapshot table and rebuild them.   When saved changes on the Attribute Properties window, we received an error "Error updating repository attribute mapping . . . ".  (I suggest getting help from support if you decide to go down this road, as it involved backing up and restoring indexes.)

Hope this might be of some help!

    Hello Brenda,

Thank you for the reply and for sharing your experience with snapshots.  We tried rebuilding the snapshot, that did not solve the issue by itself.  However, deleting all the records from the repository after rebuilding the snapshot (with drop snapshot table option) took care of the problem.  The ghost records are now gone.

    Thanks again!
