Spectrum Spatial (SSA/LIM)

Hi!

I know it's not possible by default, but is it possible to somehow go around and enable access to Admin Console for any other role than 'admin'? Or is it possible to change 'admin' role's ability to see only controlled list of resources and folders in Spatial Manager?

Sounds a bit strange, but the idea is to have different admins who have access only to their respective department's folders layers, tables and maps, also have access to Admin Console.

Right now there doesn't seem any ways to make it work,  because while it's possible to manage the list of resources and folders for a role, there isn't any way to gain access admin console without adding 'admin' role to a user and that obviously writes over all the restrictions written with the other roles. 

Going further, how might this situation change in Spectrum Spatial 2019 with Admin Console's functionalities moved into Spatial Manager?

This is not possible for the Analyst Admin Console in 2018.2. It expects the user to be an admin for Spectrum.

However in the 2019.1 release we have introduced exactly this requirement.

There is a new spatial-sub-admin role that can be granted to users to let them have administrative privileges for part of the spatial repository . The draft release note entry is below

Sub-admin role: A new pre-defined role called spatial-sub-admin has been added which enhances the way admins can delegate spatial management capability to others. Users who are members of spatial-sub-admin must also be granted folder read or write permissions, either directly or via the other roles they belong. They will be able to see and manage only resources within these folders. Such users can log into Spectrum Spatial Manager, the map uploader and can manage projects in Spectrum Spatial Analyst. They also have access to the ACL REST service and the internal REST Named Resource Service. 

Note also that in 2019.1 the Admin Console is removed and has been merged into Spectrum Spatial Manager - so all of the management is undertaken in one console.
