  • 1.  Spectrum Spatial 2019.1 - User experiences available?

    In Kirklees Council we're interested in upgrading to the latest version of Spectrum Spatial Analyst (2019.1), but if would be helpful to know about experiences of other customers/organizations that have already upgraded. Are you happy? Was the upgrade easy? have you reported any important issues in the new version? Any comments will be helpful.

    Hi Miquel,

    I just upgraded a client from v18 to v19. The upgrade was super simple. No loss of any maps or data that we can see as of now.

    The management is simpler (but will take a day or two to get used to, but a big improvement) and a bunch of the functionality is easier to manage. For instance, the client was unhappy with the way thematic mapping was handled in v18 and was very happy to see the changes in this in v19.

    I chose the wrong OpenJava component!
    Other than that, I also chose to do a fresh install from scratch and the process was easy.
