Hi Adrie.
Many thanks for getting in touch,
Please review the Designer Distributed installation script available in the release media path
..\Windows\Work Center\ConfigureSQLServer.SQL
In particular , the "support5XSchema_Flag" setting
By default this allows the explicitly named "DOC1Login" user to import and export snapshots.
I have used the installation defaults supplied in this script within a Distributed installation on the current release update (6.6.8.153 at time of post) on an upgraded 5.x database and have imported and exported snapshots with no problems.
If after reviewing these SQL settings , you encounter any difficulties with snapshots in a Distributed configuration, please contact customer support .
Thanks again for your feedback!

The situation with DBAs is very recognizable, so effort to reduce installations at the database server are appreciated. However, not being able to make snapshots is a big disadvantage. For the backup there are suitable alternatives, but as a support provider, it is very important to be able to ask for snapshots. Many databases are too big to transport easily and often organizations make problems if the database needs to be sent to us for analysis. An alternative method to create a snapshot is essential in our view..

Did you know that we now have a new type of distributed install which allows you to install EngageOne Designer without having to install the repository configuration tool on the SQL server ?
In organisations where IT security policies do not encourage third party software installed on the SQL servers, this type of install is a life saver.
The Designer installation guide (Distributed Install Option 2) provides you with the necessary steps to install the software in this mode.
Try this out when you next upgrade to latest Designer service pack and let us know your feedback.
If it's not for you, please let us know why.
