  • 1.  Mapinfo to Excel

    I have downloaded the Mapinfo to Excel tool but when I export a table I only get blank columns in my excel table and an error message within Mapinfo 2019. I am using What could I be doing wrong?

    I just tried MapInfo2Excel in MapInfo Pro v2019. The first time, I got an error. It was something around access a dump file.
    But when I tried again, it worked.

    Have you tried a few times?
    What exact error do you get?

    Hi Jodi

    That's a different error than the one I got yesterday.
    The first thing to check is that you can open the file into Excel. Can you try to do that manually in Excel or by double-clicking on the file via File Explorer?

    One common issue is that Excel needs to be set up to allow the opening of Excel files with macros. That's described in the Help file that comes with MapInfo2Excel.

    Hi Peter,

    All macros has been disabled and I still get the same error message and it is also blank when I open directly in excel.

    All files I have tried give me the same error.

    It could be the wait time that needs to be set higher.

    You find it just next to the Export button at the bottom of the dialog. Mine is set to 5 seconds but maybe you need to set it to something higher. It's the time that MapInfo Pro waits before expecting MS Excel to have launched and be ready to receive data.
