Spectrum is advertised as mobile but the only way we can access it in the field (e.g. outdoor staff on tablets) seems to be to VPN in. Is this just the way ours has been configured or is that what you meant by 'mobile'?

"Mobile" will refer to the responsive design of the SSA interface meaning it will display nicely on mobile devices.

Making SSA available for remote access by mobile devices (or laptops/PCs for that matter) will depend on how your SSA instance is configured. If you need to VPN in when in the field then it sounds like yours is set up for access via an internal network only.

When we were trialling Spectrum/SSA we configured our external webserver to forward requests to the internal SSA server which allowed SSA to be accessed from any internet connected mobile device via our public website - no VPN required.
