  • 1.  Query in STUDIO - Sort entries

    Posted 01-14-2022 08:24

    Hello @ all :)

I need some help. I work a lot with QUERY and I don't understand how the extracted data are sorted by default.
I'd like to sort my results but if I try to, I get an error message saying:

"Sorting might get disabled due to internal chunking. Please restrict the number of records ta a value less than 225000 to ensure sorting."
So I changed this settings from "ALL" to "220000"

but that wasn't working. New message: "Die Eingabezeichenfolge hat das falsche Format"....

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance,
    kind regards
    Iris

    Hi Iris,
I think they mean the 'data chunks' -flag and qty in the menue. Did you try to disable that one ?
As far as I know, disableing will have SAP spit out all results in one single go in stead of in different chunks.

    Hi Jan,
thanx a lot for your reply :)

I guess, using WinShuttle in English would make my life easier... or maybe not :D

I just checked this setting. I had this option disabled. Like this:
I just tried to enable it with an amout of 25000 (Default). Didn't work :(

Now it says: "Data can't be sort when using Data Chunks."

Hi Iris, sometimes i have the same "challenge" it depends what data you are extraxting. Usual  Material as example is extracted in the material number order but if you join with let's say  BOM information it get's a mess.  try to change your query sequence if it's possible, that helps sometimes.

    Hi Matthias,
thanx a lot for your reply. I guess we can proceed our communication in German? If so, please feel free to do so :)

What do you mean with "change the query sequence"?
