We would like to receive email alerts in our Nordea mailbox when Assure or Insight application services stop in any particular environment. Please let us know how to achieve this.

I’ve heard of other users using third-party monitoring tools to check the health of JVMs, which would include Assure and Insight. It isn’t possible within Assure or Insight themselves, because if their JVMs are shutdown, any internal controls monitoring JVM health would also be shutdown. I’ll defer to our other end-users on the forums to respond regarding how they’ve implemented this.

By adding our email id to the ADMIN_NOTIFICATION_EMAIL_LIST property under discarded event notifications in appserver.properties files, will this send notifications to us in the event of a service shutdown.

The admin email list is solely used for the Discarded Event Notifications, which are the notifications that are sent when Assure controls fail to send data to Insight and Perceive after four attempts. This would indirectly monitor your Insight and Perceive JVM health, but not your Assure JVM health. Likewise, this monitoring isn't continuous, it's only triggered after an Assure control runs.
