How many times can you geocode per month before the allowed credits expire? Does one geocode mean geocoding one location or one file of locations to geocode?

One geocode mean one location/address, so if a file has 10 locations those are 10 geocodes. There are two types:

    • Premium Geocode: This is for roof top or street level geocoding and each location/address is 3 credits.
    • Basic Geocode: This is for postal or geography level geocoding and each location/address is 1 credit.

An account is not charged and no credit is deducted if the geocoder is not able to return any result.

In the UK a Premium Geocode is 5 credits but this is using Ordnance Survey's AddressBase Premium product for very precise address location?.

@John Ievers?  The pricing in the UK for a premium geocode is also 3 credits now.

That's great @Kapil Dhawan? thanks. Is the free account increasing the number of credits per month as well?

@John Ievers?  The free plan is 2500 credits for 60 days. We have now simplified pricing with Pay as you Go plan starting with 5000 credits. See here: https://signup.pitneybowes.com/plans/software-apis

Also if a premium geocoding endpoint/method is used but the geocoder returned candidate is basic (geography or postal level) as fallbacks were turned on, the account will be charged 1 credit instead of 3 credits.

So this is quite a change to "free geocodes per month" - the original question. The link is for the API rather than MapInfo and mentions 5,000 free credits. IS this the same?

@John Ievers? Yes I talked about Developer API when I mentioned about 2500 credits for 60 days.

The MapInfo user will get 2000 credits every month on free plan with V17 release and there will be option to upgrade to paid plans for MapInfo users.

Thanks again @Kapil Dhawan? - that is very generous of PB. I am sure the users will appreciate it. Aiming to make more of them aware of this online service.

You are welcome @John Ievers? . MapInfo v17 release will have GeoZone API integrated. The GeoZone API returns Drive Distance and Drive Time Zones/Isochrones for input Location Coordinates or Addresses. Useful for anyone wanting to create smarter geofence zones for Local Engagement and Analysis.
