The raster output from a numerical model has some scattered data that needs to be cleaned up.  This scattered data is generally spread over small areas and generally isolated from the contiguous data. A cleaning process for this scattered data is required, which is based on a specified area. e.g, if we specify an area of say 100m2,  all the scattered data in the raster, which is 100 m2 or less gets removed from the raster.

Can this be accomplished in the Raster Calculator.

    Thanks for your query.

Currently we don't support this feature in Mapinfo Pro Advanced or through Raster calculator tool.

You can request this feature through our ideas portal. After posting the same Pitney Bowes Software & Data Product Management team will review popular ideas and evaluate their potential for inclusion in our short and long term development plans.

Ideas portal can be accessed using below link:

Alternatively ideas portal can also be accessed through top menu under Pitney Bowes Sites.

Thanks Anshul.  I will do that later, but right now I am stuck with this job of cleaning up the raster.

Is there a work around or some indirect way I can achieve this.  Would appreciate some assistance.

I'm curious if you can remove these smaller areas using a Focal Filter and the Majority filter type.

You find this option in the Raster Operations dropdown.
