The services on the server still say they are running the browser loads the template but the map won't load. System resource usage displays as nominal, the only way to correct it is to restart the Spectrum Spatial service. Running v12.1 but have had this issue since v11.

    Hi Jason

Have you checked ?the logs? From SSA and mostly form Spectrum (wrapper.log)?

We had encountered this type of error in the past (but not anymore) when we were doing spatial calculations on heavy and very precise geographic tables with Spectrum, but not with SSA.

And often, it was a server memory problem. So , since we have increases the RAM of the server, and the memory allocated to Spectrum Spatial.

Another point (which applies to all GIS), warning to the projection system of the different maps / tables. To avoid any problems of performance, we use wgs84 for the tables. This avoids recalculations of coordinates (still very resourceful).

Especially if you have tables stored in spatial databases (oracle, potsgis, etc ...).

    Best regards.

    David

?Have you checked the LIM pool size in Spectrum Management Console?  This defaults to 1 which is almost never the right number.  The right number is a bit tricky but at least the number of cores on your Spectrum (not analyst) server. Many people run with twice the number of cores.

I have seen in some cases where a pool size of 1 can lead to deadlock.

By the way, we would like to default it to something other than 1. If this is your problem, please let us know.
