    Hi, 

    any pointers gratefully received.

    Trying to do some testing with AWS and the license manager.

    Install v15 32 bit distributed license on AWS server - check
    Install license manager V4.7 on to same AWS server - check
    Active single license on Manager - check

    Tells me a total count and available number is 1.

    Fire up MapInfo which asks me for Server Name which I've assumed is the machine name AND matches the one displayed at the top of the license manager info bar.  add port number and press connect......

    "No matching license for request"

    Log file says "Activation error (-161,62002:0) No fulfillment exists in trusted storage which matches the request"


    Any ideas?

    Hi Nick,

    Assuming you are using the Serial Number is same in MapInfo Pro instance and the License server.
    Have you tried using the IP address instead of machine name if that allows connecting to the server?

    Thanks, unfortunately I get the same response.  Interestingly i get a different error message if I try using a made up IP.  So Pro is 'seeing' the license manager it just doesn't like what it finds.  I have checked the serial numbers and activation code are correct and there is a license available.  My next option is to change the license manager version. Is there a list of versions to Pro versions or should I just always use the latest version?

    Hi Nick,

    The latest version of License Server Utility should be good.

    Good to check if you have:
    1. the same Serial Number and Access code in the registry.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MapInfo\MapInfo\Professional\
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MapInfo\MapInfo\Professional\

    2. MapInfo Pro patches

    Ruchi,

    the registry on the AWS didn't quite have the same structure as you have put + I couldn't see the serial number at all either .

    I did install it on a box in the office (thanks to John's suggestion) and connect to it that way.  Although that didn't really help with what I was trying to nail down.

    My original issue wasn't so much the license manager but how Pro manages users and user preferences for distributed licenses.  A few of my clients have issues with these and I was trying to replicate/test what was happening.

    Hi Nick
    Certainly go with v5.2 of the LSU.
    Is the AWS server a physical server?? The LSU has to attach to a physical drive.
    And you have the server name and port number of the AWS server??
