It would be very nice to have the option to open a new browser window in floating instead of the default tabbed, as well as to have query results open in a floating browser. I have modified some custom .MBXes to do this, but when using MapInfo's built in tools, this doesn't seem possible.

I like this idea. Often I have multiple Tab Groups and when I run a query, inevitably the results get put in the wrong tab group. Floating might be a better way to handle them.

Yet I believe you need to be putting suggestions into the other website at:

Thanks for the link Steve. A search for floating there shows this has been suggested multiple times already and is "under review." Maybe I'll get my wish...

    Hi all
Peter's Window Helper Tool adds a ribbon button to open new browser windows as floating, but I also like the idea of new query results being opened in a floating window.
    cheers

Thanks Kalu. I downloaded the tool and am trying to run in version 17. The Window Helper window does not load, but  I can access the menu through the Tool Extensions window. I don't see anything that would make a new browser window open as floating. Where is that? Do you use this in 17?

    Hi Nick
It works for me in MapInfo 17.0.2
When I load the WindowsHelper tool, I get an extra "Floating Browser" button on the TABLE ribbon tab.
