I would have thought that you could have used the response from the web service in Spectrum Spatial Connect and populate the response into an existing field in your micro app.
To me, that looks like a more "clean" integration of a web service instead of having the web service to populate the field through a Ruby script in the service.
Using the response makes the use of the web service more flexible as you can use it in multiple places.

Spectrum Spatial provides location intelligence capabilities that enable businesses to be more efficient and increase business value. Spectrum Spatial Connect extends these capabilities to mobile devices by integrating with Spectrum services. These services can be out of the box, such as mapping or address type ahead. More interesting is the ability to integrate with user defined dataflows. What are some of the things that can be done using this approach:
- Find the Nearest (with routing network) capabilities for field technicians. For example, a repair technician requires parts and needs to find the closest distributor to the current customer location. Mobile access to this capability saves the technician time.
