    What are the options for importing or using LAS format digital terrain data?

    Hey John

    You can create a raster from these using Create Raster or Create Raster Multifile.

    There are some discussions on this topic already. Have a look at these:
    I hope this helps

    First you need to unzip your file.
    Then Raster->Create Raster
    I picked Triangulation method.
    Select your LAZ file as an input (from a Create Raster panel).
    Select columns that you want, specify projection of the data and hit Process button.

    You will get something like this.

    I zipped this LAZ, so as otherwise it's impossible to upload into community portal.

    We tried in different computers after issue report. The result is same as our customers had: error message at very beginning. This error is related only to 2018 year data. Previous years collections usage is without problems. Only 2018.

    Hi Mati,

    We read LAS and LAZ files in MapInfo Pro Advanced using an open source DLL provided by "<g class="gr_ gr_55 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling" id="55" data-gr-id="55">rapidlasso</g> GmbH".
    They updated this code in 2017 to support a new version of LAS files (version 1.4). They have made several updates since then.
    We did not notice straight away (the previous update was in 2013), but Pro was updated in version 17.02 (patch 2).
    Your LAZ file was written as version 1.4 so you will need MapInfo Pro Advanced 17.02 or later to read it. Earlier versions of Pro return an error message.

    Regards,
    Sam.
