  • 1.  "Fill in all required entry fields" - Transaction

    Hi All,
I am having trouble with the error message "Fill in all required entry fields" when creating an 1W21 transaction.
I'm not sure why this is error is being flagged because the transaction recording in the GUI went ahead without any issues.
I tried the "Run and Stop on errors" and it stopped on a field that had compliant content designated in my test run rows ("Name of Person Reporting Notification"). The same error also comes up if I set it to fixed value upload.

I have looked at the troubleshooting guide for this error, which didn't make much sense to me. (Fill in all required fields)

I am also aware other people have posted IW21 templates on these forums, but by glancing at them they don't have "Name of Person Reporting Notification" field enabled. I am not sure why they can run the transaction without a field that is compulsory for me, but I assume it's related to differences in corporate SAP setup.

Am I supposed to use a loop to force Winshuttle to fill in "Name of Person Reporting Notification" first? Is there something else that I am not aware of?

    Thanks for your help everyone.

    Hi Arlene

Filling in the person responsible should be ok.  There are two sets of fields in my system

When I fill in the personnel number in the yellow boxes, it pulls in the name and makes it read only.

So for a recording, I just fill in the personnel number.

    I've attached a quick example.  I hope it's helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Sigrid,
The field I am attempting to fill is "Reported by", not "Person responsible". For our SAP, "Reported by" has a blue tick in the field, meaning it's compulsory to fill in the GUI - "Person Responsible" doesn't.
I did try to run your example, and when I filled in "Person Responsible" on your file, it didn't flag the error. It did trip on our "Priority" field, and I couldn't turn that on in the mapping tab to investigate further, because it didn't appear to be there.
I'm still not sure why the "Fill in all required entry fields" didn't come up for the "Person Responsible" Field in your example file ... could you shed any light on it?
    Cheers,
    Arlene

    Hi Arlene

Sorry about the mix-up on the field(s) causing an issue.

Every system may have different fields and can tweak what is required in config, so what works in my system may not exactly work in your system.

As for the error message, it may be that you're hitting enter before filling out the required fields?

If you look into the attached, which does have the priority and some long text lines:

    1. I pick the notification type and hit enter
    2. I fill out everything but the long text without hitting enter and go to the 2nd tab
    3. I fill out the priority and I overwrote the dates just in case, then chose to go back to tab 1.  I got a pop-up about entering dates and answered NO.  IDK if you get it.  I selected to skip if not found.
    4. I went to the long text editor and added a line and entered 2 lines of long text and hit back
    5. I then hit save

You can see all of the above in expert view.

Hope that helps clear things up.

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid

    Hi Sigrid,
    Thanks for your reply.
Your second example file behaved similarly to the first - no "Fill in required Fields" error. When I recorded the transaction, I followed a procedure similar to yours - I take care not to hit enter while filling in the fields. I was taught to avoid this in training and instead use buttons, etc, because everyone's SAP can be slightly different.
Still baffled. I've re-recorded a handful of times now.
If you had any further ideas, they would be welcome.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Sigrid,
To follow up to my last: your last message inspired me to do what appeared to be the most illogical thing.
When something isn't working one way, do the opposite: turns out pressing enter after filling in every field was what did the trick.
I am still at loss to explain why.
But at least the transaction is working!
    Cheers,
    Arlene

    Hi Arlene
That's great to hear!   While I did the opposite, it seems you found your solution, which makes me happy.  Thanks for letting me know.
    Best Regards,
    Sigrid
