    Deciding which Design Editor font type to use
    Designer supports the use of the following Windows font types ;

    • Postscript Type1 .PFB / .PFM fonts
    • Windows True Type .TTF fonts
    • Adobe Open Type (Postscript outline) .OTF fonts

    When deciding which Design font type to use bear in mind the following ;

    • Windows True Type fonts are natively available across All supported Windows OS versions in all supported font styles.
      Note - These TTF fonts are regularly updated, which can lead to an increase in published font size across different Windows OS or within different update levels of the same Windows OS.
    • PostScript Type1 and Adobe Open Type fonts sourced from a font vendor are under the users control and will remain constant unless explicitly updated by the user , ensuring a consistent published font size and content across Windows OS variants.

    Type1 and Open Type font considerations

    Important note - It is the users responsibility when sourcing third party PostScript Type1 or Adobe Open Type .OTF  fonts to ;

    • Install - ALL - individual Fonts for each Design Font style required such as Regular , Bold, Italic and Bold Italic.
    • Ensure that all the required Font attributes are present and use a consistent Font name as required by the Font specification.

    Note - Failure to do so will lead to Publish failures or incorrect Generate output.

    Migrating from one Font type to another

    If a Design user decides to replace one font family font type , such as a True Type font with another such as a Type1/Open Type equivalent, - All - font styles and point sizes for the specific font family must be replaced , within the Design Repository and on each Designer Client Windows environment.

    A Designer Client user must update the existing Repository Design font types with the replacement font types for - All - point sizes and styles of the original font using the Designer Tasks / Import / Fonts / Windows font.

    Note - Failure to replace all styles / point sizes for the specific font family can cause Publish failures or incorrect Generate output.
