From
Business Insider, and the
Census Bureau's 2017 County Business Patterns this tidbit of news highlights which states have the highest number of bars per 100,000 residents. I'm not sure there are any obvious spatial patterns other than some of the least populous states seem to drink more. The Plains states seem to have an obvious concentration of beverage establishments while the South is a bit
dryer. The NAICS Code 7224 - Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages) has 28,345 establishments with a employment population of 378,097.
