Hi Max, Can you provide any more details about what you are experiencing and with what type of map/project you are seeing this with?

When i creating a new layout with large size (~1000-2000 millimeters) and add there map.

This problem only with large size layout. But all my project have a large size layout.

You are just zooming and panning in the Layout, right? Not in the Map?

Are you also saying that if you work in a smaller layout, the performance is better?

What printer driver are you using for the layout and what resolution in case you are using a PDF printer driver? Could you try if lowering the resolution improves the performance?

in the x64 version speed of rendering is lower than in 32 bit

I, too, have a similar problem, with MI Pro 64 with Discover Bundle sometimes goes very slowly and often hangs with (not responding) message. I am nearly always using images as background (geophysical rasters or sometimes grids), but I thought that this should be OK? I am using a brand new HP with Win 10, 16 GB RAM, Intel I7 core, 3.4Ghz, all of which I would have thought more than adequate to run Mapinfo. I was having the same problems with my laptop running the 32-bit version, but with half the RAM and slower CPU and on Windows 7, which is why I "upgraded" to my current desktop PC. When it does hang and I lose patience after a few minutes and exit the program, it sends a message to Microsoft, surely it would be better sending a message to Mapinfo!

I think this has come up as an issue before where you have a large paper space in your Layout. @Max Map? Your Layout seems to be an odd shape as well as very large - 2500x1060. Can you reduce that size and see an improvement in performance?

@Richard Hill? What imagery/rasters are you using? And are they on a read-only drive?

When you first open rasters in 64-bit, MapInfo will automatically generate index files, which may take some time depending on size and quantity. This is a problem if the drive is read-only - either change the read-only settings or Raster Options in MapInfo not to generate index files. Once generated you can revert to read-only and enjoy the better performance....

Perhaps the problems are caused by working on the company network (not-work?). I am often using registered Google Earth imagery, saved as JPEGs up to 15Mb files and might have several open at once, plus Aeromag images up to 500Mb. I have now copied many of these images onto my local hard drive and Mapinfo seems (so far this morning) to be much more stable.

If you have Advanced (Raster) module you could merge these images together to form a new MRR format raster - and then you will see brilliant performance, no matter what size.
