    Did you know that ever since MapInfo Pro v12.0 (32 bit as well as 64 bit), you have been able to make labels not selectable?

    This will prevent you from selecting the labels from any layer in the map window and makes it easier to select the features. It also prevents you from accidentally moving a label to a new position.

    And here is where you check/uncheck the Label Selectability in the Explorer or Layers window:
