In MapInfo Pro, you can use the "Autonode", "Snap" and "Trace" functions to trace over a Raster in the cosmetic Layer. Trace and Snap doesn’t work on Raster by itself. These features will only snap to existing vector data

- Once the Raster you wish to trace is open it will be helpful to have a Vector file such as the USA Tab from the Introductory Data open in the background to help guide the trace.
- In MapInfo Pro, Select the checkbox for editable in the Cosmetic Layer .
- Click on Spatial Tab > Symbol > Polyline
- Click on Spatial Tab > Style > Line Style and select the pattern and thickness of your choice.
- Now on your keyboard, Press "N" for "Autonode" Press "S" for Snap & "T" for Trace
- You can now hover and trace around your Raster Image using your Polyline Tool. Once you are finished tracing, double click to show the finished traced outline.
