Hi all, I am new using v16 and I was wondering how I can use vcp files in order to modify the colouring in a raster in this version. I have found the "advance color" window but I cannot see where I can add vcp files or how to create them. Thanks,Monica

    Hi Monica,

    Thank you for Posting!

To use .vcp files, you will have to copy all .vcp file to {Mapinfo Installation Folder} "C:\Program Files\MapInfo\Professional\Raster\ColorPalettes"

Once copied to above folder, you will be able to use those .vcp files by either going to Advanced Color or through Raster ribbon.

Thanks for the answer Matt. However, it seems I cannot see the values displayed. I find this is a disadvantage compared to previous versions as I want to select a coloring which highlight a specific area. Any ideas for that?2017-11-09 14_30_06-_Untitled.wor - MapInfo ProI saw there is a new file .color from which you can enter a breaks table values for coloring. Maybe this is a closer approach to previous? I just need to convert all my .vcp to this extension I guess.

    Hi Monica,

If you select the Color Table first, then select Advanced Color > Transform Drop Down> Linear > to User Defined > Histogram > Select Break Tables >

You can then edit breaks of the color table (VCP).

    user defined

    For Templates by name:

By default the color table name is not shown in Advanced Color and Raster ribbon. To enable color table names display, you will have to go to Backstage->Options->Mapinfo Pro Raster->Preferences.

In Preferences go to Display->Show Color Table Name and check the checkbox next to it.

After that restart Mapinfo and notice that names of color table will start displaying.
