  • 1.  Unnecessary error message for Fix/Clean

    Posted 11-02-2017 12:16

When performing a Fix/Clean > Snap/Thin operation on objects in the Cosmetic layer, MapInfo gives the following error message:

"Metadata operations are not supported for table Cosmetic1"

There should not be such a message since there is no need for metadata in the Cosmetic layer.

Did MapInfo Pro actually Shap/Thin the objects, Steve?

Be default MapInfo Pro saved the snap/thin settings to the tab file which of course isn't possible for a cosmetic layer.

Yes, the small areas I wanted gone by using the Polygon Area Thinning function actually do get removed, but the error message is an annoyance.

I create a bunch of drive-distance polygons and sometimes there are tiny holes in the combined region, so I use the Snap/Thin function to remove any of them under a certain size threshold.
