Last week during the LI Roadshow Events @Joe Francica? challenged us with the statement "It's crispy, it's juicy - you really want to get your hands on it". Whilst the accompanying picture on the screen was some bacon (cue: hunger pains) the topic of discussion was Data. More precisely the spatial data used to build our maps.
This is a great challenge for all of us - what condition are your maps in? Feel like they are a little stale, static and perhaps need to be seasoned or spiced up? Take a close look at the data – data is the lifeblood of what we all do with Location Intelligence. Without data there is no map, no analysis – nothing.
Attention to detail with respect to data is reflected in the quality of the final product - a map that clearly communicates a message and leaves the audience well satisfied (just like that juicy piece of bacon).
So how do you feel when you look at your maps? Share with the community about the datasets you are using or the datasets you'd like to see available.
