Folks,
This is both odd and a little embarrassing but I feel I'm going in circles.
I had a PC that I'd set up to access an XLSX Excel sheet as an ODBC data source. In fact I asked a question here on the forum about the details of the query and whether underscores could be used in the select statement. This in a sense proves that this works\has worked on this PC.
Following a satisfactory implementation the target PC was re-imaged. this was done to prove all the setup steps we'd built during development were proven and repeatable. I was assured the re-imaged machine was identical to PRE-IMPLEMENTATION configuration.
So we re-implemented the solution including a new install of Mapinfo V16.
We can't get the ODBC connection re-established.
I have reviewed the guides related to 32 and 64 bit drivers and followed these to the letter.
Please note the target machine had no versions of Office installed. The only ODBC drivers available for connecting to Excel are those installed by MI V16 64 bit. These happen to be 2010 Access driver redistributable.
I even tried updating to 2016 redistributable and no change other than 2016 drivers became available.
However the issue is not a complete failure in that I can create the connection but when it comes to actually configuring the "query" for accessing the Excel sheet I'm not even getting the option to select a sheet.
See Attachment
I've tried full re-install of Mapinfo, new drivers, different versions of Excel sheets. No good.
For contrast I was able to connect to SQL Server via ODBC with very little trouble.
Has anyone run into a similar issue?
I really need to get his working on this machine but I just can't seem to workout what's going on. Obviously my frustration is amplified because it was working on this machine prior to a re-image.
BTW I want to open the Excel as Linked\Read-Only if that makes any difference.
Any help appreciated.
