  • 1.  How to install MIPro 16 and Discover 2016 together on the same machine

    Posted 09-05-2017 04:06

Hi there?, I would really like to be able to have MapInfo Pro 16 and Discover 2016 installed side by side on my machine.

Currently you can have one or the other but not both. Discover as a bundled install removes any previous installations of MapInfo.

Is there a way to achieve this with the latest versions of MapInfo Pro?

    cheers

There is only the bundled install of Discover 16 with MapInfo Pro? 16. I have asked already if it could revert to an add on installation to MapInfo but they do not want to have 2 separate install routines. Only option is to reinstall older versions after the process.

Perhaps DataMine will take a different approach??

@Peter van Dijk? , admitted, I don't have Discover 2016 on my laptop so my suggestions are basically pure guesswork...

    Have you tried:

    1. Running MapInfo Pro without Discover?
    2. Running MapInfo Pro with the /NoAutoLoad parameter?
    3. Installing MapInfo Pro, copying the installation folder to another folder, uninstalling and then installing MapInfo Discover?

I use 3 when I need to have an English as well as a Danish version of MapInfo Pro on the same computer

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for that, seems that I can run just mapinfo using the no autoload parameter.

I haven't tested 3, but may give it a go

    thanks for your help

    cheers
