Normally you might think of Raster GIS for working with elevation data.
But can Raster GIS be used to compare a number of criterias to find the "good spot"?
Yes, Raster GIS is actually pretty good at locating places where several conditions are met.
Here is an example where I try to locate positions that are close to roads, are near a reasonable amout of addresses and also is close to other shops or stores.
