  • 1.  Is it possible to make an image in the Layout transparent?

    In previous versions of MapInfo Pro, an image would occupy a non-spatial Map Window of it's own? and you could make the Layer (image/logo) transparent. Now that you can insert an image directly onto a Layout, without using a Map Window and associated tab, I cannot find any control on the transparency. Is this possible?

    Hi John,

    You are right, currently I cannot see any option to control the transparency of an image inserted directly in the Layout canvas. The workaround as you have probably already noted would be to add the image firstly in a new map window and then to bring it into a frame in the layout window.

    It is sounding to me like it may be an enhancement request. Looking through our current ideas, I do not see any similar requests - can you please raise this on our Ideas Portal when you get a chance?

    Or make the image translucent before adding it to the Layout.

    The Layout does support translucent images

    Yep - I'll put that in the Ideas Portal Dave. I did wonder about posting this in the v17 Transition Group as it is a transition issue also.
