Summer is finally making its appearance in the Northern Hemisphere, and with that we're launching the Summer Mapping Contest. We're looking for you creative types to share any maps having to do with summer, with 6 prizes to be awarded.
Think 'out of the box' on this one. While some things about summer quickly come to mind like vacations and beaches, Summer can be about Summer jobs, Summer droughts, or Summer risks (where I live the bears are starting to show up around town for a bit of dumpster diving), or really, anything. This year we even have the World Cup as an artifact of Summer.
And for those of you in Asia, don't let the contest name deter you. In fact you may have an advantage of already experienced Summer!
Like our first contest we'll have winners chosen by PB staff with a scorecard that emphasizes skills in constructing maps and deriving insight, while the 'people's choice' awards will predictably focus on the less technical elements.
Roughly speaking, we'll be looking for your submissions by September 4, and awarding the Summer competition winners by September 21. Remember that like last time, the sooner you submit the more opportunity there is to get votes in the people's choice' awards. We'll share via social media for you, but time in the field will be important in any case.
Prizes: Each of 6 winning entries will receive $250 gift cards, and the top 2 will also get copies of MapInfo Pro Advanced. Everyone gets an Li360 steel water bottle.
How to enter: Just post your map and tell us your story. Share a link on social media to get the voting started.
