MapInfo Pro

I'm working on a map containing GP boundaries, need them in a layered pdf, this is no problem. What they also want is for each boundary to be shaded/translucent to see overlapping areas, all the boundaries arrive in the pdf with solid fills.

Any ideas what I can do?

If I understand your question correctly, you can achieve this by applying the 'translucency' setting for the boundary layer. This can be applied by double-clicking on the layer in the Explorer Window > this will bring up the Layer Properties dialog box > under 'Enhanced Rendering' > Translucency either drag the slide button/type a number/click on the up/down arrows to change the level of translucency

You can click on the 'Preview' button to review the outcome of this setting. Once you are happy with the results, click on OK to apply

Create a PDF as per usual and the translucency should be carried across into the PDF.

Hi Dave, thanks for coming back, sorry I didn't explain very well. I've already created the layers the way I want them.  It's  the process of printing to pdf that  renders them as solids, they look fine in Mapinfo

My mistake, it was shading with a transparent background that didn't work, proper translucency seems ok, thanks for your time! 😊
