  • 1.  Are there performance improvements in the 64 bit versions of MapInfo Pro vs. 32 bit versions?

    Often people expect to see performance improvements when an application moves from 32 bit to 64 bit.

    However this migth not always be the case.

    Has there been any significant performance improvements with the 64 bit release of MapInfo Pro?

    Yes, we have made some substantial improvements with regards to rendering huge point file and to doing queries, especially using the  Map Selection tools.

    In this video @[Tom Probert] shows some of the improvements by showing MapInfo Pro 15.0 (32 bit) next to MapInfo Pro 16.0 (64 bit).

    The Fast Point Rendering can be turned of if you in certain cases need all the points to be rendered.

    Notice that MapInfo Pro 15.0 almost hasn't opened the workspace once Tom has finished the process in MapInfo Pro 16.0.
