MapInfo Pro

Just installed Mapinfo 17.0. I then created a thematic map using a table of zipcodes. I went to the layer control to adjust it,clicked on the theme... and no longer have access to the thematic dialog. Has this been taken away in this version? I know that it's still available in the ribbon controls.

As much as I understand your question, the answer is No. It has not been taken away.

We do not have the Layer Control window available anymore in this version. It is just the Explorer window, through which you can get the Layer Properties dialog in the context menu.

If you are looking for the "Modify Thematic Map" window, you just need to double click inside the Theme Legend window that is created. Hope this answers your question.

We have tried to align the behaviour of the Thematic layers with the behaviour of the other layers.

Typically when you double click on a normal layer, you get the Layer Properties dialog. This is now also the case for Thematic Layers. This makes for example the access to the Layer Translucency identical for the different layer types. Earlier users were struggling to find this options for Thematic Layers.

To activate the Modify Thematic Map click on the small thumpnail next to the Thematic Layer.

Or even better use the THEME tab in the Ribbon and modify your Thematic Layer thru this.

Thanks Peter for the quick response. Clicking on the thumbnail worked. It at first seemed different in this new version.
