In previous versions of MapInfo Pro it was possible to access some edit functions (set target, split etc..) by right-clicking on an object.

This was a really useful feature allowing quick digitisation.

In MI v.16 this feature had gone, meaning that instead you had to click though options on the ribbon menu (which takes longer).

Are there any plans to reinstate this functionality in MI v.17?

One solution in MapInfo Pro 17.0 is to create a dedicated Mini Map Toolbar with these operations available.

We have also seen a similar request come thru for adding the Objects menu back to the Context menu. You can consider adding this as a request to our Ideas Portal that you find a link to in the top bar here on the site.

What Peter said about an improved dedicated Mini Map Toolbar is supposed to help improve the usability in this respect, where if you right click anywhere in your map window, the Mini Toolbar would appear which allows access to user specified map options such as 'Split' and 'Set target'.

The tools which appear in this Mini Toolbar can be specified via the 'Customize Quick Access Toolbar' menu in the top right corner of MapInfo Pro.

    Hope this helps!
